For ArtVilnius’26, Drifts presents a group show featuring works by Agnė Juodvalkytė, Erika Povilonytė, Vytautas Viržbickas under the theme Metamorphoses. „Everything changes, but nothing perishes“ – these words by the Roman poet Ovid become the starting point for the presentation, inviting a conversation about the vitality of material, the flow of time, and poetry on paper.

Metamorphoses propose a view of change not as an ending or a loss, but as a creative force through which new forms, meanings, and relationships emerge. Ovid’s seminal work remains highly relevant to contemporary art not only because it has inspired generations of artists and their restless creativity, but also because it continues to offer a framework for considering contemporary art’s capacity to transform and reimagine materials, images, and their meanings.
