Linas Jablonskis (b. 1959) is an artist born, living, and working in Vilnius. In 1982, he graduated in History and Theory of Arts at the Lithuanian State Art Institute in 1982 and has been the head of the Print Collection of the Library of Vilnius University since then. From 1982 to 2023, he served as the head of the Printmaking Cabinet at Vilnius University. His body of work includes etchings and artist’s books; since 1999, he has focused exclusively on drawing. From 2005 to 2010, he organized the international event series Independent Drawing Gig, which took place in Lithuania, North Macedonia, the Netherlands, and the United States.
The artist’s most important solo exhibitions include Drawings at Akademija Gallery in Vilnius (2012), Lettres du guerre at the Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius (2009), and Soft Fashion at the Antanas Mončys House-Museum in Palanga (2002). His works have been exhibited in group shows at the National Gallery of Art and the Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius, SAVVY Contemporary in Berlin, Ibid. Projects in London, the Baltic Art Center on the island of Gotland, Art in General in New York, among others.
L. Jablonskis’s works are held in the collections of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art, MO Museum, the Graphic Art Cabinet of Vilnius University Library, the Latvian National Museum of Art, and Osnabrück University.
